Didn't make it.

The thought of two 3 hour drives with 4 hours of bar sandwiched in the middle, combined with an 8am parent teacher conference scared me.

God, I'm getting old!

Well, here's hoping this is just a warm up for a successful new record and a successful supporting tour that will include either a date in Raleigh or a weekend date somewhere I can drive to.

Rick, I'm in Wisconsin so Chapel Hill wasn't me. 8)

Brian has to travel a fair bit to get to me so I cannot give myself too big of a deal!! :-)

Honestly, I charge admission to our "club" and I raise all the money to give to Brian. In this way it costs me the same now as it did before I was started helping BVA out in 2008. In that way, I invite new people to each show so he can sell more merch, etc. Its really been a winning combination to this point!

We even had some funny Ticketmaster tickets for our show this time!

too right! Plus I heard he did it at a recent solo gig so I knew he had somewhat practiced it and didn't want to make him have to relearn to much stuff!! Also why Underneath was on the list as he had played that one at the recent shows as well.

The version he played of Headlines at my house though was totally unique, almost felt like a different song to the Frog version!

TVH LCLR show #5 - Appleton, WI

Ok, my fifth LCLR show tonight. Quite a night. My friends were once again the opening band which is always fantastic in itself, but then BVA dazzled the crowd with a wide variety of tunes. Some of the nuggets on the setlist included: A Trip to Omaha, Underneath, Headlines, Veneer, Mileage, and Drive You Mild. And the Family album songs that were interesting hearing solo acoustic were Worrisome One, Suppertime, Cereal (played twice as my kids got home right when he finished it and it's their favorite so Brian replayed it). Kind of odd vacuuming the living room from cereal at midnight!

And then to cap the night off, Brian and my friends Eric and Marty closed the show with a fantastic rendition of The Sound of Silence.

This continues to be one of the coolest experiences there is for a music fan, the fact that he's one of my favorite artists only adds to the sensory overload!

Can't wait for show #6!!

Valentine's Show 2010 setlist

ok, I didn't make this show last year but wanted to make sure I made the long drive this year to catch it and I was not dissappointed. What a great variety of songs and really capped the weekend with a regular Verve Pipe show, a Verve Pipe Kid's concert and then this one.

Brian's brothers band backed Brian up on some songs and even did a few of their own covers. Lux did 2 cover songs on her own with a fantastic version of Cyndi Laupers Time After Time.

I had to do some searching to find who did some of those songs and BVA helped me out that night with a couple of the ones I was unfamiliar with. I could have swore one of them was an old Peter Gabriel song but it was just BVA doing his good ole PG impression on stage, damn he sounded great. The sound at this venue really is fantastic.

I won't go into TOO much detail, but if you post questions below I'll try to answer them. I don't recall exactly who was onstage for each and every song but I tried to note it after the song where I could remember it.
