oh my aching neck! I've been rolling meatballs for Friday night (I froze them, don't want to make my friends sick.)

My husband was the 3EB fan. I went to several concerts with him and they grew on me. One time at Merriweather (2004?) in Columbia, Stephan came out in the audience and he was only maybe 6 chairs away from my husband. He was really good looking (what happened, he's all puffed up now!

I was bored when I saw them in Baltimore the last time. We were too far from the stage. I need to be where the action is.

We saw VH with the Bare Naked Ladies in 2001. They were good. Where are they now?

Well, I finally found this site thanks to Brian responding to my email, asking where the BBS went ... I admit I was one of those fans that used to check the BBS regularly on TVP website. When I realized the tab was gone, I was like WTF??? I kept checking, and it never returned. Sad I used to use that as almost a journal or diary ... I'd go back and read what my friends & I had posted after going to a show, and it would immediately bring me back to that place & time with my fave band. I'm sad that it's gone ... though after reading what has been posted here, I kind of understand. I'm still bummed that all that TVP history is now gone ... I would have printed off some of my show reviews if I'd known ahead of time.

It's nice to see some friends here like Jay & Dewey. I think Brian should include a link in his next newsletter to his dist list. I know other friends like Meshell & Jamie, like me, weren't sure where to go.

My two cents on the new album: I have children ages 11, 9 and 5 ... they like some of the songs but not all .. my older two are more "rockers", and don't really like Cereal or Wake Up ... but my 5 yr old seems to enjoy those tracks. So lately I've been playing the old TVP albums for the boys, and they are diggin' the rock!! I'm bringing all 3 kids to the State Theatre show - I'm excited and I think it's going to be a blast for their first "rock" concert to be TVP!!!

Hope to see some of ya'll there --sue

I was dazed and confused when the BBS link didn't work. Figured there was just a problem. A couple days later same thing. A couple days later same thing. Finally, it dawns on me to write Toddy V and received an answer it is really gone.

What? Gone forever?

Ok, band decision. It's their website, I can live with that decision. Would have been nice to get a heads up for us long-time fans and also would have been nice for a brief description to show up instead of a missing link.

But THANK YOU to Brian for your post in this thread explaining everything. And THANK YOU to Todd V for pointing me to this forum. And THANK YOU to all those die-hards who are migrated over to this forum.

I may not always contribute as much as others, but I'm always reading what y'all write.

I think message boards in general are losing popularity due to Twitter and Facebook.

Pearl Jam changes their board software about every 3 years and performs a clean up but copies many posts. This new one has lost alot of posting fans, as you must pay your $20 fan club dues in order to post. Otherwise, you can only lurk or send private messages.
Their new board is much slower (less activity) than when I first joined their old black and red board in 1999! At least PJ lets non paying fans lurk, I once tried to look at an STP board and I could not lurk since I had not paid.

Could a Verve Pipe fan start a new board?

He posted a link to THIS website Smile which was started by a fan.

I don't think the band wants a direct connection to any BBS or forum as they don't want to be associated directly with arguments, and any sort of shenannigans that happen on some of these boards.

If it gets out of hand, I'll start charging a dollar "dues" to use this site.

Even a dollar would keep out the riff-raff Smile

I still like this "old fashioned" message board. Can catch up and review what you may have missed on all the other social networks. (and apparently on old boards)

Like now I'm all excited about a Leif Garrett/TVP tour! Must have missed that tweet.

*note to self: check in more than once every three months.....and now go crawl back under rock...

so Rick, did you find the problems on here? It seemed to continuously keep logging you in and then it would rare let you post without an error? Hope it wasn't too much work! Smile

Funny thing is, I didn't do anything! I migrated to a new server, and haven't had time to fix the sites that don't make me any money Smile
